Job Description

This full-time Veterinary Criticalist Faculty role at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Emergency and Critical Care. The position combines teaching, clinical service, and research within a collaborative academic setting. The faculty member will teach Emergency and Critical Care through lectures and practical or laboratory sessions for DVM students, supervise and mentor students during clinical rotations and practical sessions, and provide clinical consultation and case management in the Small Animal Clinic. Responsibilities also include rotating after-hours emergency coverage, curriculum development and improvement of ECC teaching materials and methods, research and publication, continuing education, committee participation, accreditation-related work, and contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment. A DVM or equivalent veterinary degree is required, along with completion of an Emergency and Critical Care residency and/or board certification through ACVECC, ECVECC, or an equivalent credential. Applicants must also have experience in ECC clinical teaching and case management, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Prior university-level teaching experience, a record of scholarly activity or interest in research, and experience working in multicultural or international environments are preferred.
