Job Description

The Welder role at St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino supports the Engineering Department through welding, fabrication, equipment upkeep, and related maintenance activities. The position involves MIG, TIG, and Arc welding, as well as fabricating and repairing metal parts, equipment, and structures using various materials, including aluminum. Duties may take place in the workshop, fabrication area, or elsewhere around the resort. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, machinery, and facilities; identifying and addressing welding-related issues; ensuring welds meet quality and safety standards; and collaborating with maintenance teams and other departments. The role also assists the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing team. Candidates should have 2–5 years of welding experience, preferably in maintenance or manufacturing, proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding, and a strong understanding of welding safety procedures. Experience in machine shop operations, good communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to stand, bend, and lift frequently are also expected. AWS or ASME welding certification is preferred, while OSHA or other relevant certifications may be beneficial. HVAC knowledge is beneficial, and ductwork, fabrication knowledge, and the flexibility and skills to work in other engineering areas are assets, as welding is not required every day.
