Job Description

The Driver role with TDC in Saint George Basseterre, St. Kitts, is responsible for safely handling, loading, transporting, and delivering goods. The driver must follow safety protocols and traffic regulations, wear required protective gear, ensure delivery documents are signed, and provide polite, professional customer service. When the truck is on the road, the driver supervises the assigned attendant or porter and is responsible for ensuring duties are completed efficiently. Responsibilities also include completing the daily checklist, confirming the vehicle is clean and in good mechanical condition before leaving the yard, and promptly reporting accidents or other difficulties. The role involves working primarily outdoors in a warehouse and lumber yard environment, including loading and unloading materials and moving loads of varying weights. The position may require sitting, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, and moving throughout the facility, with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Safety glasses or a ventilation mask may be required for specific tasks. Applicants must hold the license required for the assigned vehicle, have at least one year of experience driving that type of vehicle, understand relevant documents and products, and have full knowledge of the vehicle’s operation, including basic mechanics.
