Job Description

The Coord- Programme role with Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts supports administrative and organizational work for the Spay Program and its community outreach activities. The position reports to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Administrator and works closely with other Veterinary Teaching Hospital program coordinators and faculty involved in the Spay Clinic Program. Responsibilities include liaising with pet owners in St. Kitts and Nevis to encourage program participation, helping maintain an adequate number of incoming clients, assisting clinicians during community assessments of potential clients and their dogs, and helping with animal restraint when required. The role also includes driving the VTH vehicle to pick up dogs scheduled for the Spay Clinic and returning them to their owners in St. Kitts and Nevis. Additional duties include preparing community outreach schedules, creating and maintaining client and patient information in Avimark, keeping accurate scheduling records, monitoring patient records and medical history data, acquiring clinic forms, supporting students and clients with schedule adjustments, coordinating drop-offs and check-ins, assisting clinic staff and faculty with Spay Program operations, and serving as backup support for other Program Coordinators. The role also requires clear communication between clinicians and pet owners, including reassuring owners and delivering necessary information and prescribed medications. Applicants should have excellent written and oral English, strong administrative skills, a strong interest in animals, especially dogs, knowledge of St. Kitts and Nevis geography, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and an active driver’s license with a clean driving record.
