Job Description

This Campus Roving Patrol Officer II role with Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts focuses on helping prevent criminal activity on campus, responding quickly to emergencies, and assisting individuals who need help. The position relies on close observation during foot patrols and supports positive interaction between the Safety and Security Department and the RUSVM community. Key duties include conducting door checks during evening, nighttime, and weekend hours; providing security escorts on campus when requested; maintaining radio communication with the Supervisor, Security Dispatch, and other officers; and responding to campus emergencies, including natural disasters, fire, flooding, and criminal incidents. The role also supports lockdowns and campus closures, writes and submits reports, manages lost and found records, and may serve as a back-up Operations Dispatcher at the Security Operation Center when needed. Qualifications include secondary school education with at least four CXC passes. Previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred. The role also requires communication and computer skills, strong written and oral communication skills, willingness to work shifts including weekends and public holidays, and possible extra hours during emergencies.
