Job Description

This Student Counseling Center Staff Therapist role with Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts is a non-faculty position on the Student Experience Team, based in the IACS-accredited Counseling Center on the RUSVM campus. The work centers on supporting veterinary medical students through primarily in-person individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation, alongside outreach and prevention efforts that strengthen the campus community. Key responsibilities include direct clinical care, case management and coordination of care, trauma-informed psychoeducational materials, mental health workshops and presentations, consultation with campus teams, timely documentation, participation in meetings and case conferences, and clinical oversight of the Counseling Center when the Director is away. The role also calls for working within Center policies and professional standards, collaborating on daily operations, and staying active in professional development and associations. Experience with Titanium Software is preferred, and occasional evening, weekend, or early-morning hours may be required. Applicants should hold a master’s or doctoral degree in a closely related counseling or mental health field, along with independent licensure in counseling or an equivalent credential valid in any U.S. state, Canadian province, or regulated country. The position calls for at least two years of experience working in a college or university counseling center, experience with outreach and prevention programming, strong psychotherapy, assessment, and crisis skills, and a practice grounded in social justice, trauma-informed, decolonial, or liberation-focused approaches.
