This Veterinary Criticalist Faculty role at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts is a full-time academic appointment in Emergency and Critical Care at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. It combines teaching with clinical consultation in the General Practice Small Animal Hospital. The position includes lectures and laboratory instruction for DVM students, supervision and mentoring during clinical rotations and practical sessions, and case management in the Small Animal Clinic, including rotating after-hours emergency coverage. It also involves ECC curriculum development, scholarly work such as research and publication, continuing education, participation on faculty committees, accreditation work, and other academic service. The role is also expected to support an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body. Required qualifications include a DVM or equivalent veterinary degree, completion of an Emergency and Critical Care residency and/or board certification such as ACVECC, ECVECC, or equivalent, demonstrated ECC clinical teaching and case management experience, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Prior university-level teaching experience, scholarly activity or research interest, and experience in multicultural or international environments are preferred.
