Job Description

This full-time Truck Driver role with Home and Building Depot in Nevis, based at Pinneys, centers on the safe and efficient loading, transport, and delivery of materials. The position also includes supervising the assigned porter while on the road, keeping the vehicle ready for use, completing the required documentation, and reporting any incidents or difficulties promptly. Day-to-day duties include handling materials safely with attention to the vehicle’s weight and tonnage, following all safety precautions, obeying traffic regulations, and wearing the required safety gear when loading and offloading trucks and while on construction sites. The driver is also responsible for ensuring the assigned porter follows the same safety practices, delivering goods promptly, obtaining the relevant signatures on delivery documents, and making sure the truck is clean and in good mechanical order before leaving the yard each morning. Applicants must hold the license required for the assigned vehicle and have at least one year of experience driving that type of vehicle. The role also calls for polite customer service during deliveries, knowledge of the products being delivered, the ability to read and understand documents, and a solid understanding of the vehicle, including basic mechanics.
